Barnyard Palooza and Movie:Epic, Legacy Academy, & Cottage Grove Dream Park

On Wednesday the campers had a blast with the barn yard theme. They made their own farm animal memory game, planted flowers, got to check out a real tractor, and played some computer games on My American Farm.org (myamericanfarm.org). We also did our survivor challenge of the day: Cheeto Toss! The team who won the immunity was the Green Hornets!

Thursday was the field trip to the movie Epic, the Legacy Academy, and the Cottage Grove Dream Park. Thanks to Ms. Graves for providing the movie tickets! The campers really enjoyed the movie and appreciated the opportunity to see it.

Let's Get Fit and Green Eggs and Ham

 To start the week off we had Let's get fit day on Monday. The campers had fun staying active by playing: hopscotch, a math sponge game, and a fitness card game. Also we watched an episode of Magic School Bus to learn about our muscles in our bodies.

Tuesday's theme was Green Eggs and Ham. The campers practiced their rhyming skills by matching rhyming words together and writing their own Dr. Seuss like stories. We also read the book Green Eggs and Ham together as a group and we made Dr. Seuss costumes. 

This whole week will be survivor week with a final survivor day on friday. The campers have been split up and put into survivor teams. Through out the whole week the campers will be completing tasks and challenges with their team members. At the end of the week the team with the most challenges won will be the survivors!

Starin Park & Whitewater Aquatic Center and Camper-Counselor Switch

On Thursday's field trip we went to Starin Park and the Whitewater Aquatic Center. The campers played at the park and then swam at the pool. Friday was camper- counselor switch day! The campers had a blast switching spots with their counselors. The campers made Kool aid play-dough and then had the chance to try it out. Also, the campers did a clothing relay race with the counselors clothing, which were a tad too big for them. At the end of the day we watched Shrek 2, made a variety of trail mixes for our snack, and played some games in the gym.
